Southampton University’s Avenue Campus home to the School of Humanities, just a short stroll from the main Highfield Campus. Located right in the heart of campus, the contemporary Avenue Café offers a wide range of hot and cold food each day. Offering great student offers including a Friday fry-up for £2.50, cereal and a hot drink for £1.00 and meal deals from £3.95 – Avenue is perfect for studying, complete with a tranquil courtyard adjacent for those well-earned breaks.

The Songbird Café

The Songbird Café is a modern study space for those looking to relax whilst working, with outdoor seating also one of its best-selling points. Offering a wide range of milkshakes, iced coffees, cakes, and smoothies, this quirky café is near the University’s campus for after lecture study sessions. After you’re done working on assignments, why not treat yourself to one of their tasty ice creams?

Room 2 – Southampton Café

Situated just an 11-minute walk from our accommodation, just outside of the busiest part of the city centre. Room 2 is a great study location, available all day, opening early in the morning and staying open until the late hours of the evening. Cushioned windowsill seating means you can gaze over to the idyllic park scenery just across the road, for those writers’ block moments. Customers are rewarded for using reusable cups, with 25p discount on your drink every time you remember your travel mug.

Uptons of Bassett

Ideally located near Avenue Campus, the Uptons of Bassettv café is a good choice for those looking for a more substantial meal to keep you going through your study days. Serving a wide range of breakfasts including the Full English and meals throughout the day, Upton’s is the ideal spot to fuel up for studying.

Café Thrive – Southampton

Situated in the city centre, just a 14-minute walk from our Southampton student accommodation, a perfect post-shopping spot to study. Get your head down whilst also enjoying an array of cakes and savouries all for reasonable prices – reward yourself with something delicious after hitting that word count at Café Thrive.

The Artisan – Southampton

Located in Guildhall Square, this café is designed to be a creative hub for university students, as well as being open to the public. Offering a super rustic interior and a very chilled out vibe, this place is a great hangout. Keen supporters of ethical produce and fair-trade coffee, The Artisan offers premium service, at a reasonable price (complete with student discounts too!)

Muse Coffee – Southampton

A cosy coffee shop offering freshly made coffee and organic food, with dining options from breakfast to lunch to desserts. Just a short walk from Highfield Campus, Muse Coffee is perfect for studying and socialising after lectures, with decent prices plus coffee & pastry deal for £5.

Nousha Lounge

An aesthetically pleasing local business in the heart of Southampton. One to try if you enjoy experimenting with flavours, offering specialist drinks such as a ‘coconut rose latte.’ Frequent collaborators with other small businesses in the area, always offering something new and fun including new menus, a must visit for Southampton students.

Mettricks – Southampton

Mettricks offers quirky atmosphere and great coffee, alongside service that is always spot on. This local haunt offers the perfect atmosphere for getting work done and or enjoy some downtime with friends, complete with an outdoor seating area looking over Southampton’s main parks.

Maritimo Lounge is a picturesque café and bar based on the waterfront, with three floors of seating. The bar boasts beautiful views of the harbour, and an outdoor seating area to enjoy when the weather permits.

Coffeeology Southampton is an independent coffee shop, merging the atmosphere of a café with a gallery. Proudly serving up a wide range of freshly coffee, cakes, smoothies, all day breakfast, sandwiches and freshly baked mini pizzas, coffeeology makes a great place to fuel up ready for the study day ahead.
