Room 2 – Southampton Café
Situated just an 11-minute walk from our accommodation, just outside of the busiest part of the city centre. Room 2 is a great study location, available all day, opening early in the morning and staying open until the late hours of the evening. Cushioned windowsill seating means you can gaze over to the idyllic park scenery just across the road, for those writers’ block moments. Customers are rewarded for using reusable cups, with 25p discount on your drink every time you remember your travel mug.
Uptons of Bassett
Ideally located near Avenue Campus, the Uptons of Bassettv café is a good choice for those looking for a more substantial meal to keep you going through your study days. Serving a wide range of breakfasts including the Full English and meals throughout the day, Upton’s is the ideal spot to fuel up for studying.

Situated in the city centre, just a 14-minute walk from our Southampton student accommodation, a perfect post-shopping spot to study. Located in Guildhall Square, this café is designed to be a creative hub for university students, as well as being open to the public. Offering a super rustic interior and a very chilled out vibe, this place is a great hangout. Keen supporters of ethical produce and fair-trade coffee, The Artisan offers premium service, at a reasonable price (complete with student discounts too!)

Mettricks offers quirky atmosphere and great coffee, alongside service that is always spot on. This local haunt offers the perfect atmosphere for getting work done and or enjoy some downtime with friends, complete with an outdoor seating area looking over Southampton’s main parks.
