Popcorn Garlands
Create Popcorn Garlands and string them around your room and apartment. They’re fun to make and are completely unique too!
Step 1:
Make or buy popcorn and discard any broken or burnt pieces. If using microwave popcorn, just make sure it has no butter or salt! Leave the popcorn out for 1 to 2 days so it hardens and becomes strong enough to thread.
Step 2:
Measure out about an arm’s length of sewing thread, fishing wire, or waxed dental floss. Thread the needle with the wire and tie a knot at the end of the thread.
Step 3:
Push the needle through the centre of a popcorn kernel and pull it through to the end of the thread. Alternate popcorn with fresh cranberries and whatever else you please—some fun ideas include cinnamon sticks and dried orange slices! Repeat with more garlands and tie them together to make a big one. Note: The fresh cranberries won’t last longer than a day or two.

Mini Christmas Trees
Get yourself a mini-Christmas tree and decorate it, you don’t have to spend a fortune.
Homebase have an amazing selection with individual decorations starting from £2 and packs of 9 starting from £3. It’s also worth checking out discount stores.
Smell Like Christmas
Make your room smell like Christmas. There are a wide variety of scented candles available in supermarkets for as little as a £1 and they always have seasonal scents.
Dried Oranges can make a Christmas display and smell great!
You can dry your oranges 2 different ways, the first using a dehydrator. It can take a while to do it this way and who has got a dehydrator laying around.
Alternatively, you can dry your oranges in the oven. It’s faster with the same result but you must keep your eye on them, flipping your slices and watching to make sure they don’t burn. Set them out decoratively on a plate and place them in you room for a seasonal niff.
Collect Twigs, Holly & Mistletoe
Collect twigs, sprigs of holly and even mistletoe in the local park and make yourself a ‘twig Christmas tree’ (See our video for a design idea,) use the Holly to make garlands (carefully) and hang a bit of mistletoe in some tempting places (we mean over doors.)
Try to be inventive and it’s amazing what you can come up with.
